Farr West, Utah Schools: A Parent's Guide to Every School Serving Farr West

Farr West is small enough that your kids can grow up with the same friends from kindergarten through graduation. Every home in the city is in Weber School District, and the district schools are close by. Two elementary schools, Farr West Elementary and Silver Ridge Elementary (opened in 2020), sit inside the city. Wahlquist Junior High is here too, and it moved into a new Farr West building in 2014. Students then go on to Fremont High School in neighboring Plain City. Utah's open enrollment law also lets families apply to other district schools, and there are several charter and private schools within a short drive.

This guide lists every school option serving Farr West, with the grades, address, and website for each, plus answers to the questions parents ask me most.

School information was checked with Weber School District, the Utah State Board of Education, and each school's own website in September 2026. Boundaries and programs can change, so always confirm with the school before you buy or enroll.

Parent FAQ: Schools and Buying a Home in Farr West

How do school boundaries work in Farr West?

Weber School District sets an attendance boundary for every school, and your home's address decides which neighborhood schools you're assigned to. All of Farr West feeds into Wahlquist Junior High and Fremont High. At the elementary level, the city is split between Farr West Elementary and Silver Ridge Elementary, depending on your street. The district reviews boundaries as the area grows, and it last redrew high school lines when West Field High opened in 2024. So check the current map for any home you're considering.

How can I check which schools a specific address feeds into?

Use Weber School District's Boundary Maps page and its bus stop locator, or call the district at 801-476-7800. Don't rely on the school names in an online listing, because those are often out of date. When you're buying with me, I'll confirm the assigned schools with the district before you write an offer.

Can my child attend a school outside our boundary?

Yes. Utah law allows open enrollment. In Weber School District, the early application window runs from November 15 through the first Friday in February, and you apply at the school you'd like to attend. Approval depends on space, you provide your own transportation, and you commit for the full school year. You can apply later in the year too, but seats are more limited. Charter schools have their own applications and lotteries, often in the winter or early spring.

Do I need to live in Farr West to attend a charter school?

No. Charter schools are open to any Utah student. They're tuition-free, but they usually don't provide buses, so factor the daily drive into your home search.

How does school choice affect home values in Farr West?

Many families shop for homes by their assigned school, so homes inside a particular boundary can draw more interest from buyers with children. Utah's open enrollment and nearby charter options give families flexibility, and that softens how much a single boundary line drives price here compared with some other markets. When you're pricing or buying a home, I'll pull recent sales on both sides of a boundary so you can see what the numbers actually show. I won't rely on assumptions.

What should I ask when touring a school?

Ask about class sizes, after-school activities, bus routes, and before- and after-school care. At the high school level, ask about AP and concurrent enrollment classes. Most schools are happy to set up a visit. Just call the front office.

Thinking About a Move to Farr West?

Finding the right home often starts with finding the right school. I'm a Farr West homeowner, and I've lived in Northern Utah for more than 40 years. I can help you compare neighborhoods, confirm school assignments, and find homes that fit your family.
