Pleasant View, Utah Schools: A Parent's Guide to Every School Serving Pleasant View

Pleasant View is home to one of Northern Utah's best-known high schools. Weber High School sits right in town, at the foot of Ben Lomond. Every home in Pleasant View is in Weber School District, but the city is split between two high schools. In 2024, the district moved its high school lines, and part of Pleasant View now attends Fremont High in Plain City instead of Weber High. That makes checking a home's school assignment especially important here.

The elementary picture is changing too. Orchard Springs Elementary opened in 2019 and has room to grow. Lomond View Elementary, one of the district's oldest buildings, is under review for its long-term future. This guide lists every school option serving Pleasant View, with the grades, address, and website for each, plus answers to the questions parents ask me most.

School information was checked with Weber School District, the Utah State Board of Education, federal school data, and each school's own website in September 2026. Boundaries and programs can change, so always confirm with the school before you buy or enroll.

Parent FAQ: Schools and Buying a Home in Pleasant View

Which high school will my Pleasant View home go to?

It depends on the address. (For junior high, Pleasant View students attend Orion Junior High.) When West Field High opened in 2024, Weber School District redrew its high school lines. Fremont High's boundary was pushed east to U.S. 89, into what had been Weber High territory. So some Pleasant View homes are now assigned to Fremont High in Plain City, and the rest still go to Weber High. Two homes a few blocks apart can be assigned to different high schools. Always check the specific address.

How can I check which schools a specific address feeds into?

Use Weber School District's Boundary Maps page and its bus stop locator, or call the district at 801-476-7800. Don't rely on the school names in an online listing, because those are often out of date, especially after the 2024 changes. When you're buying with me, I'll confirm the assigned schools with the district before you write an offer.

Is Lomond View Elementary closing?

Not right now. The district studied closing it in 2025. In December 2025, the school board voted to keep it open and ordered an independent review of all 30 district elementary schools. The superintendent has said closure is still possible in the future. If Lomond View is your assigned school, watch the district's announcements. Orchard Springs, the newer school nearby, has extra room.

Can my child attend a school outside our boundary?

Yes. Utah law allows open enrollment. In Weber School District, the early application window runs from November 15 through the first Friday in February, and you apply at the school you'd like to attend. Approval depends on space, you provide your own transportation, and you commit for the full school year. Charter schools have their own applications and lotteries.

How does school choice affect home values in Pleasant View?

Many families shop for homes by their assigned school, and some buyers have a strong preference between Weber High and Fremont High. That can affect how much interest a home draws. Open enrollment and nearby charter options give families flexibility, so a boundary line isn't the only factor. When you're pricing or buying a home, I'll pull recent sales on both sides of the boundary so you can see what the numbers actually show. I won't rely on assumptions.

What should I ask when touring a school?

Ask about class sizes, after-school activities, bus routes, and before- and after-school care. At the high school level, ask about AP and concurrent enrollment classes. Most schools are happy to set up a visit. Just call the front office.

Thinking About a Move to Pleasant View?

Finding the right home often starts with finding the right school. I live next door in Farr West, and I've lived in Northern Utah for more than 40 years. I can help you compare neighborhoods, confirm school assignments, and find homes that fit your family.
