New Construction in Farr West, Utah: What's Being Built in 2026
Farr West has always felt like a small farm town, and in a lot of ways it still is. But if you've driven 2300 West or 2000 West lately, you've seen it: new homes are going up. As a Farr West homeowner, I go to the Planning Commission and City Council meetings to see what's coming before it's built. Here's what's on the way, and what to know if you're thinking about buying new.Â
Legends Crossing townhomes (around 1639 N 2300 W)
Visionary Homes is building Legends Crossing, a townhome community on the west side of town. According to the builder's listing, there are three floor plans from about 1,515 to 1,806 square feet, with prices starting at $369,900 (as listed in October 2026). The community includes a park, a playground and walking trails.
On August 6, 2026, the City Council gave final approval to Legends Subdivision Phase 2, near 1500 North and 2300 West, which means more homes in this area are on the way.
These townhomes are a good fit for first-time buyers who want a newer home without a big yard to keep up, and for downsizers who are ready for less space.
Schools for Legends Crossing: Farr West Elementary, Wahlquist Junior High and Fremont High.
The Hart subdivision (around 2452 W 2950 N)
For buyers who want a larger, single-family home, two-story new builds are listed in the Hart subdivision starting around $684,900 (October 2026).
West Creek (around 1000 N 1500 W)
West Creek, by BlackPine, sits on the south edge of Farr West next to Marriott-Slaterville. The City Council approved West Creek Subdivision No. 3 and a new building site plan on August 6, 2026. Two weeks later, Farr West and Marriott-Slaterville signed an agreement covering stormwater, road access and trail planning for the project. I'll share more on home types and prices as they're announced.
Farmland turning into home lots
Two properties have asked the city to switch from agricultural zoning to single-family homes (called R-1-15):
- The Koehler property at 2100 North Heritage Drive, heard by the Planning Commission on September 10 and the City Council on September 17, 2026
- The Slater family property, on the City Council agenda July 16, 2026
In Farr West, R-1-15 means lots of at least 15,000 square feet, about a third of an acre. That's more room than you'll find in most new construction along the Wasatch Front. Curious what these zoning codes mean? Read my guide to Farr West zoning in plain English.
Tips for buying new construction in Farr West
- Bring your own agent on your first visit. Many builders ask you to register your agent the first time you walk into a model home. The builder's sales rep works for the builder; your agent works for you, and the builder usually pays the agent's fee.
- Ask about incentives. Builders often offer help with closing costs or a lower interest rate when you use their preferred lender. Compare it against an outside lender before you decide.
- Get an inspection anyway. Even a brand-new home can have mistakes. An independent inspector can catch them before you close.
- Ask about water for the yard. Some new lots in Farr West don't have secondary water (separate, cheaper water for lawns and gardens). In August 2026 the city updated its landscaping rules for those lots, so ask the builder what's planned.
- Using a VA loan? Many new homes can be bought with a VA loan. Ask the builder early whether they work with VA buyers.
Want a heads-up on what's coming next?
I keep an eye on every Farr West Planning Commission and City Council agenda, so I usually hear about new subdivisions long before the first sign goes up.
