Who Is the Best Real Estate Agent in South Ogden, Utah?

by Dessa Wright

If you're searching for the best real estate agent in South Ogden, here's my honest answer: the best agent is the one who fits you. There's no official ranking, and anyone who tells you they're "number one" usually means they bought an ad.

So instead of asking you to take my word for it, let me tell you what to look for, and then tell you plainly what I do and don't bring to the table. You can decide.

What to Look for in a South Ogden Agent

  • Real local knowledge. South Ogden is small, but it isn't uniform. A mid-century rambler near Burch Creek Park and a bench home with valley views are two different markets, with different buyers and different pricing. Your agent should know the difference without looking it up.
  • A current license you can verify. Every agent in Utah is licensed through the Utah Division of Real Estate, and you can look up any license yourself. Mine is 7350392-SA00.
  • Experience with your kind of move. Buying your first home, buying new construction, selling a home you've owned for decades and downsizing, relocating for a job at Hill Air Force Base, or using a VA loan are all different transactions. Ask an agent which ones they've actually handled.
  • Someone who works both sides. Most South Ogden moves are really two transactions: selling the house you're in and buying the next one. It's easier when one person is coordinating both.
  • Straight answers, quickly. You want someone who will tell you a house is overpriced, and who answers the phone when there's an offer deadline.

Why People in South Ogden Work With Me

I'm Dessa Wright, a licensed real estate agent with Real Broker. Here's what's actually true about me, with nothing dressed up.

I live here, in this part of Weber County

I've lived in Northern Utah for more than 40 years, and I own a home in Farr West, a short drive up the road from South Ogden. I'm not commuting in from another county to list a house I've never driven past. When I talk about the traffic on Washington Boulevard, the drive to Hill Air Force Base, or which parks are busy on a Saturday, it's from living here.

I'm licensed, and I belong to the local Realtor® associations

I'm a licensed Utah real estate agent (license 7350392-SA00) with Real Broker, and a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, the Utah Association of REALTORS®, and the Northern Wasatch Association of REALTORS®, which is the local board covering Weber County.

These are the moves I specialize in

  • First-time buyers. South Ogden's mid-century homes are some of the more attainable options in this part of Weber County, and a lot of first purchases happen here.
  • New construction buyers, including understanding how builder contracts differ from resale contracts.
  • Relocation buyers moving here for work or to be near family.
  • Investors looking at rentals or long-term holds.
  • VA buyers, which matters in a town 15 minutes from Hill Air Force Base.
  • Downsizers and 55-plus buyers who want a smaller place, a flat street and a hospital close by.

For sellers

If you're selling in South Ogden, I'll price your home from what's actually sold nearby, not from a website estimate. I'll tell you which repairs are worth doing and which ones aren't, and I'll point out what South Ogden buyers actually ask about here: the school boundary, the condition of the roof and furnace on an older home, the yard, and how far it is to the freeway.

I'm part of the community outside of real estate

I teach Jazzercise at Harrisville Fitness and volunteer with Utah Neighborhood Connection. That's not a sales credential. It just means I'm around.

I write the guides I wish buyers had

Rather than ask you to call me for basic information, I put it on my website:

What I Won't Tell You

I won't tell you I'm the number one agent in South Ogden, because I don't know how anyone would measure that honestly. I won't invent an award, and I won't quote a review I didn't get. If you want to know whether I've handled a situation like yours, ask me and I'll tell you straight, including when the answer is that another agent would serve you better.

Let's See If We're a Good Fit

The best way to choose an agent is to talk to one and see how they answer. No pressure and no obligation.
